As you know, our LC is organising the Southern European Regional Meeting this year!
We also want to give our LC members the opportunity to participate and meet our international guests!
These are the programme points you can participate in:

Donau Auen National Park
Sunday, 28 April, 14:00 – 17:00
Excursion through the National Park along the Danube wetlands between Vienna and
Bratislava. The tour will be guided by the Viennese municipal forest service (MA49).

Official Opening Ceremony and Workshops at BOKU
Monday, 29 April, 08:00 – 12:00
Official opening of SERM 2013 and welcoming speeches by the university’s headmaster, the
IFSA president, the director of the Austrian Federal Forest Research Institute (BFW), the
executive director of IUFRO and the Federal Minister of Forestry.
Seminars on specific issues of Austrian forestry supported by Prof. Karl Stampfer (BOKU)
and Dr. Gernot Hoch (BFW)

Forest Administration Nasswald
Monday, 29 April, 14:00-16:00
Guided excursion within the forest district of Nasswald covering the local breeding of river
trout, game management and management of protection forests for drinking water supply.

Austrian Federal Forests Krems
Thursday, 2 May, 08:00-12:00
Guided excursion by the Austrian Federal Forest Service (ÖBf) within the district Waldviertel-Voralpen. We will see successful examples of silvicultural transitions of Scots pine forests into Douglas-fir stands on poor and degraded soils.
