From April 28 to May 5, more than 50 students from all over the world (not only from the Region of Southern European but even from Finland and Iran) visited us to get to know the forests and culture of Austria and Hungary.
For us as part of the OC SERM2013, it was an amazing experience and we are happy that the participants really seemed to enjoy the week. We all learned many new things, had a lot of fun, and most importantly, found many new friends! We are thankful for all the wonderful memories!
Meetings like the SERM are one of the core elements of IFSA! Therefore, we are also very happy that quite a few members of LC BOKU could participate in the excursions and workshops, interact with our international guests and experience the IFSA spirit!
This is the first of many group pictures :), taken on our first day, at the Cobenzl.
More pictures can be found on the SERM Homepage!
An article about SERM will be published in the Austrian “Forstzeitung” in June and we are working on a short movie about the event.
So you haven’t heard the last about the SERM2013! 🙂
The fact that SERM is over doesn’t mean that LC BOKU will be inactive now. Quite the opposite! We are already planning another event, which also involves two of our members and their adventures in the jungle of Suriname.
The event will be taking place in June. We will inform you about the details here on our homepage! Stay tuned!
In the meantime, you can find some information about the National Forest Inventory Suriname HERE!
Please also don’t forget that the Generaly Assembly of LC BOKU will be happening soon – June 10 is the new date! (we apologise for the change of date, more information will follow by E-mail).
During the General Assembly we will also chose the new board for the next year. We would love to have some of the newer members on the board! If you’re thinking about running for one of the positions, you can find information about all of them HERE!
