Another eventful year has passed for IFSA BOKU. It has been a year full of hard but rewarding work and great events, SERM of course being the highlight.
But SERM wasn’t the only important thing that happened during the last year. Our members participated in events ranging from the Winter Meeting in Slovenia to the 10th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) in Istanbul.
We are very proud that one of our members, Daniel Schraik has been elected as president of IFSA world for the IFSA year 2012/13. This is a sign of how active and involved our very young Local Committee has already become in IFSA World!
Another milestone during the last year was the establishment of a summer job at BFW (Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape) which is reserved for a member of LC BOKU every year. This year, two of our members managed to get a job for the summer. They will tell us about their experiences on this blog!
We are also especially happy about all the new members that have joined IFSA BOKU during the last year! Welcome!
A big THANK YOU to everyone who worked for the success of IFSA BOKU during the last year!
Yesterday, at the General Assembly, a new board has been elected!
It consists of the following people:
President: Magdalena Lackner
Vice President: Lisa Lehner
Secretary: Jasmin Zisch
Vice Secretary: Martina-Marianne Meyer
Treasurer: Katharina Albrich
Vice Treasurer: Fabian Zopf
We are very happy to see so many new faces on the board!
We thank the old board for their great work during the last two years and wish the new board a lot of success!
Our next event Abenteuer gesucht-AMAZONAS gefunden!, a presentation on the National Forest Inventory in Suriname, is coming up soon!
